Important Note: All work for this online class must be submitted through Blackboard! Emailed work or hand-turned in work will NOT be accepted!
Your written work must be submitted as a PDF file. There are many ways to create a PDF - here are a few.
- 1. Use a personal scanner. Many home printers have built in scanners and will allow you to scan your work and save it as a PDF file.
- 2. Many copy stores (for a charge) will let you scan a document and turn it into a PDF file.
- 3. Use a smart phone. There are apps for some smart phones that will allow you to take a photo of a document and convert it to PDF.
- 4. Use one of the Ricoh copiers on campus - these machines are located in all buildings throughout campus and are available for student use. There is no cost to scan. Here is the procedure:
- a. Press the scan button on the left of the screen.
- b. Enter your UTAD username and password
- c. Select your "home file" as the destination for your scan.
- d. Either place the stack of papers in the loader on top of the machine and press start, or place on the glass page by page, following the instructions on the screen to indicate you have multiple pages to scan.
- e. The scan will be sent to your "H drive" a remote storage that every student has space on. To access the PDF file on your computer from the H drive, follow the instructions in the following link:

A few important things to note when creating PDF files
- 1. Make sure the file size is not too large - more than 2 MB is too large! If you use the Ricoh copiers size will not be a problem.
- 2. Make sure the pages are oriented correctly in the PDF files - do not send pages that are upside down or sideways.
- 3. If your work is more than one page, please submit a single multi-page document rather than multiple single-page documents.
