Text  Elementary Differential Equations, 8th edition, by Boyce DiPrima.

 

Quiz and Homework  Homework will be assigned regularly but will not be collected. There is a 15-minute quiz on the following dates: Jan. 20, Feb. 3, 17, Mar. 3, 31, April 12, 21 (seven quizzes in total). Each quiz is worth 20 points. The two lowest quiz scores will be dropped, and there is no make-up quiz.

 

Exams

                     Midterm I               Friday, February 10

                               Midterm II               Friday, March 17

                             Final Exam               Monday, May 1,

                                                               12:30 noon – 2:30 pm.

 

                                

Grading  The course grades will be set using the following weights.

                      Quizzes (5 ´ 20)              100

                                 Midterms  (2´ 100)         200

                                 Final                                  200

                                 Total                                  500

 

Missed Exam  If an exam is missed with an acceptable excuse, the grade will be based upon the remaining scores. Otherwise the score for the missed exam will be zero. No make-up exam will be given.

 

Withdrawal Date  March 3. After this date, a request for a grade of IW (Instructor’s Withdrawal) or I (Incomplete) must be put in writing and be accompanied by documentation verifying the reason for the request.
