ATTENDANCE:

Attendance for a distance learning class has different meaning than in a regular

classroom.  You will need to go to the web site as necessary for you to complete

your work. Keeping up with the material and not putting off your work will

play a MAJOR part in your success in this class.  Be sure to contact your instructor

about any problems with the course.

COURSE CONTENT:

Chapters 1, 3, 11, 12 and 13 with some sections omitted.  There will be more

information with the Chapter Assignments.  Also there will be a Chapter Test

            after each chapter.

GRADING:

Grading for the course will be based on the two following components and their

            respective percentage

The final exam, written, will be at a proctored site. More about this later.

Grading will be:  A = 93-100; A- = 90-92; B+ = 87-89; B = 83-86; B- = 80-82;

C+ = 77-79; C = 73-76; C- = 70-72; D+ = 67-69; D = 63-66; D- = 60-62; F=59

            and below.

CHAPTER  TESTS AND DEADLINES:

CAUTION:   After  you start a test that test is graded as a completed test.  If you click into the test area, by mistake or otherwise, you can get out by clicking on CANCEL.    This is particularly important relative to the Instructor Tests discussed below.

For each chapter there are Sample Tests and two Assigned Tests.  You can take the Sample Tests as often as you wish; these scores are not included in your grade.

The Assigned Tests can each be taken only ONCE; the higher of the two scores on these tests will be counted in your grade.  If you take only one of the two Assigned

Tests, the resulting grade will be your grade for that chapter.

All the Assigned Tests must be completed by the dates indicated below.  After those dates, the tests will be made available for sufficient reason but with a penalty in points as indicated following the test deadlines.

                                CHAPTER                        DUE DATE

                                Chapter 1                            May 16

Penalty for Late Assigned Tests:     Late 1 – 10 days…..penalty 10 points

                                                           Late 11 – 20 days…..penalty an additional 10 points

                                                           Late 21 - 30 days…..penalty another additional 10 points Etc.

Note: 1. There is no penalty for taking the Chapter One tests late, but postponing the tests could put you behind schedule.

        2. The system will not allow you to take a test (other than Chapter One) late without a password which you can get

            from your instructor.

However, the last day that any Chapter Test can be taken with or without a password is Apr. 30.

Note that taking a test late using a password involves a late penalty.

        3. Except for Chapter One, your results on the Assigned Tests are available for your inspection only when you submit them and

           not thereafter.

        4. If you attempt to access other tests or exercises while taking an Assigned Test, you will be locked out of the

Assigned Test and will have to consult your instructor in order to regain access.

FINAL EXAM:    his will be a two-hour written exam which you can take on campus either

NOTES:   1.  To pass this course you must take and pass the final exam.

2.  Only the two components above are used to determine your course grade.  The system allows for

other components, but we use only those two.

               3.  You do not need to send the Instructor any homework, etc.  The system provides the Instructor all information

                    needed to determine your grade.
